Students named to GTE teams

Denise Wojciech, senior co-captain of the Blue Hens women's
basketball team, was named to the GTE District II Academic All-
American basketball team in February, selected by College Sports
Information Directors of America.
Wojciech, who is majoring in elementary education, is the only
player in UD history in the "top 10" in career points, rebounds,
steals and assists, and she became the 12th UD player to reach 1,000
points.
Women's soccer standout Beth Hatt, a junior middle fielder, was
one of 21 women student athletes to be named to the first and second
teams of the GTE/College Sports Information Directors of America
District II Fall At-Large All-Academic Team. The at-large team
consists of athletes from all fall and winter sports other than
volleyball and basketball.
Hatt is a three-year starter who led the Hens to back-to-back
second place finishes in the North Atlantic Conference.
     A two-time All-Mid Atlantic Region and All-NAC all-star, Hatt
ranks No. 2 on the UD career list for goals (32), assists (17) and
points (81), and she has 15 career game-winning goals.
An applied nutrition major, Hatt has a 3.623 grade point average.
