Student honored

     Robyn M. McLain, a junior from Reading, Pa., who received a 1995
Entomological Foundation undergraduate scholarship, was featured in an
article in the November issue of the Entomological Society of America
Newsletter.
     McLain, who is studying entomology and applied ecology, has
participated in insect rearing, field collection and carrying out
research on the pheromone patterns of female corn borers.
     McLain volunteers at the annual Insect Field Day in Fair Hill,
Md., and at the Ashland Nature Center in Delaware. She also gives
talks about insects, the environment and related subjects to children
at local schools. According to the article, "her goal is to educate
the general public about the importance of biodiversity and
conservation."
