Unidel grant upgrades Purnell computer lab
Robert Spotts, computer and network specialist, and Lisa Raker,
computer lab coordinator, show off improvements in the College of
Business and Economics Computer Lab, in 024-026 Purnell Hall, which is
being upgraded thanks to a $150,000 grant from the Unidel Foundation.
Included in the upgrade are 41 Pentium 120's, each with 16 MB
RAM, 1.2 GB hard drives, a 6-spin CD, 15" monitor, Windows 92 and MS
Office Pro 95; 12 PowerMac 7200/90's, each with 16 MB RAM, 500 MB hard
drive, quad-spin CD, and 17" monitor, a Hewlett-Packard 5siMC printer
with 12 MB RAM; and several Unix-based servers.
Workstation tables at the site also are being replaced to allow
students more desk area. When Purnell Hall is renovated, plans are to
move the lab to 026-028, providing additional space.
