1996 UD Summer Camp Schedule

SPORTS

Blue Hen All-Sports Camp
   * Location: Carpenter Sports Building and Delaware Field House
   * Date: June 24-28
   * Cost: $125

   * Description: Well-rounded athletic experience for boys and girls
     ages 7-12. Fun gym games, plus skill instruction in such sports
     as field hockey, tennis and soccer. Free swim daily at UD outdoor
     pool.

Fightin' Blue Hens  Baseball Schools
   * Location: Delaware Diamond
   * Dates: June 24-28; July 1-3
   * Cost: $40-individual single session
           $75-individual a.m. and p.m. sessions

Mike Brey's UD Basketball School for Boys

Girls' Basketball Camp

     expect small group instruction as well as team competition each

Shooting Camp for Girls

   * Cost: $65 for day camp, $90 for overnight camp

   * Description: Featuring Dave Hopla, professional shooting
     instructor. Dave's "Progressive Practice" theory breaks down
     shooting to its simplest form and builds up to shooting in game
     conditions.

Tubby Raymond's Fightin' Blue Hens Football Camp
   * Location: UD campus
   * Date: June 30-July 1
   * Cost: $250 (group rates available)

Track and Field Camp

     performance in a clinic setting. Boys and girls in grades 7-12.

Volleyball Camp

   * Description: Improvement of individual volleyball skills,
     introduction of new techniques in offensive and defensive
     strategies. Staffed by college, high school and USA volleyball
     coaches, who will instruct participants on different styles of
     play. Regular camp, both weeks; beginner's camp, both weeks;
     college-bound camp, week one; and setter's camp, week two.

Junior Tennis Camp
   * Location: Delaware Field House Tennis Courts
   * Date: July 29-Aug. 1 (I), Aug. 5-8 (II) and Aug. 12-16 (III)

Middle School Band Camp

   * Description: Large-ensemble rehearsals, sectionals, theory
     classes, master classes and a concert in Loudis Recital Hall. For
     rising 6th-9th graders with a minimum of two years' playing
     experience.

Keyboard for Kids

   * Description: Singing and moving to nurture the tonal and rhythmic
     development of the child; an introduction to the recorder to
     explore the breath control and fine motor control necessary for
     instrumental study; and an hour each day spent at the pianos,
     exploring the basics of melodic patterns, chords and music
     notation. Ages 6-9 years old.

Summer College

   * Deadline: April 15
   * Requirements: Students in the top 15 percent of their high school
     classes with an A or B average

   * Description: A residential credit program for academically
     advanced high school juniors. Students enroll in two courses,
     from among eight choices, and earn a maximum of seven college
     credits. Limited class size. Experience college academic and
