'Garden Check' news available

With spring lawn and garden activities beginning to occupy
homeowners' attention, interested gardeners may want to order a
subscription to Garden Check, a special gardening-oriented newsletter
from Delaware Cooperative Extension.
Garden Check is written expressly for the home gardener in the
mid-Atlantic region. Now in its 18th year, Garden Check provides 12
issues from March through November. Each includes expert advice on
planting, pruning and fertilizing.
Delaware Cooperative Extension specialists and educators in
horticulture, plant pathology, entomology and the environment keep
readers up-to-date on current practices, preventatives and products.
In addition, the newsletter's writers alert gardeners to
potential upcoming problems before they might tend to get out of hand.
Also, with increased awareness of environmental issues, pesticide
safety and water quality, Garden Check provides information that makes
it easier for readers to avoid excessive, untimely or dangerous uses
of lawn and garden products.
The subscription price for 12 issues is $12. Gift
subscriptions-with a gift card included-also are available.
To subscribe, send a check, payable to the University of
Delaware, to: Garden Check Subscriptions, Dept. U, Delaware
Cooperative Extension, 910 South Chapel St., Newark, DE 19716-1303;
