Two workshops will provide info on payments to non-U.S. citizens
Immigration and Naturalization Service and Internal Revenue
Service regulations require that payments for or to non-U.S. citizens
be restricted according to the type of visa the individual holds.
To help University personnel better understand the federal
regulations, two workshops will be offered during March, both in the
Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center.
A session for newcomers to this issue will be presented from 9-
10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 12. It is designed for those who want in-
depth coverage of the regulations and University payments to resident
and non-resident aliens.
A second workshop will be held from 1:15-2:45 p.m., Thursday,
March 14. This presentation will include a review summary of
procedures and an update on changes in regulations relating to those
payments.
Because of limited seating capacity, prior registration is
required. These workshops are intended for departmental staff who will
be processing payment requests, hiring personnel and inviting guests
or candidates to campus.
Both workshops will be presented by personnel from Accounts
Payable, Foreign Student and Scholar Services, Payroll and Personnel
Records.
To reserve a space in one of the workshops, call Linda Hughes at
831-2174 or send e-mail to Linda.Hughes@mvs.udel.edu.
