Assistant to v.p. announced

     Zenobia Hikes has been appointed assistant to the vice president
for student life, as of Jan. 8, reporting directly to vice president
Roland M. Smith. Prior to her new assignment, Hikes served as
associate director of admissions, developing and implementing programs
to attract African- American and Latino students to the University.
     Hikes will manage operations in the student life office and
advise such student life offices as admissions, financial aid, career
services, counseling and student development, residence life, the Dean
of Students Office, Student Health Service, student services for
athletes and the student centers on policy, personnel and budget
issues.
