World champion skaters in 'preview' scheduled March 2-3

     World Championship Preview, featuring six ice skating teams who
will compete in skating's World Championships in Edmonton, Canada,
will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, in the
University's Blue Ice Arena.
     The six teams, all of whom train at the University's Ice Skating
Science Development Center, are World and European champions Oksana
Gritschuk and Evgeny Platov; Angelika Krylova and Oleg Ovsiannikov;
Irina Romanova and Igor Yaroshenko; Irina Lobacheva and Ilia Averbuch;
Elaine Asanakis and Joel McKeever; and Tina and Wayne Lai.
     Additional performances are scheduled by 1996 U.S. National
medalists and by 1996 Junior Olympic Team members.
     Admission to the event, co-sponsored by Aetna Health Plans, is
$15 for adults and $12 for children. Senior citizens and UD students
receive a $3 discount.
     Patron tickets, which include preferred seating and a reception
with the skaters after the show, are available for the Saturday, March
2, performance at $30 per person. Patron seating is limited and must
be purchased in advance.
     Tickets are on sale now at the Bob Carpenter Center, Perkins
Student Center and Blue Ice Arena box offices, all on the Newark
campus, and by phone through Ticketmaster at 984-2000 or (215) 336-
2000. A convenience charge may apply.
