Gardener training
Cooperative Extension is offering Master Gardener training
programs starting in early February.
The 45 hours of horticultural training are free in return for
volunteer service in one of six committees with such diverse duties as
answering lawn and garden questions, teaching gardening workshops,
cultivating children's interest in horticulture and demonstrating
display gardens.

deadline is Dec. 31.
Library orientation
An orientation for new faculty on the electronic resources of the
library will take place at 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21, in the Class of
1941 Lecture Room on the Morris Library.
The program will include demonstrations of electronic resources,
a tour and light refreshments.
Individuals who plan to attend and did not receive a letter of

Summer figures
In the first 1995 summer session, 4,083 students were enrolled in
classes.
This figure includes 1,771 undergraduates in Newark, 54 parallel
program students, 676 gradate students and 1,582 continuing education
students. The 1994 first summer session total was 3,946 students.
During the second summer session, 1,908 students attended
classes, including 786 undergraduates in Newark, 11 parallel program
students, 283 graduate students and 846 students in continuing
education. During the second session of 1994, 1,808 students were
officially enrolled.
D.C. shuttle bus
The Washington, D.C., shuttle to the Library of Congress and the
Folger for faculty and graduate students will operate on Fridays only
during the fall semester.

Volunteer fair
The College of Education's Center for Intercultural Teacher
Education and the Office of Clinical Studies are conducting a
volunteer fair from 3:30-5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13, in the lobby
and Educational Resource Center of the Willard Hall Education
Building.
Representatives of nearly 20 schools, recreational, social and
community organizations will be present to discuss their respective
operations and volunteer needs and opportunities.
The fair is open to all student and representatives of campus
clubs and service organizations.

Dance lessons
Two 10-week sessions of dance lessons, sponsored by the
University of Delaware Ballroom Dance Club, will be offered this fall.
Instruction in wing, jitterbug, cha cha, tango and other dances
will be offered from 8:15-9:15 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning
Sept. 12 and 14, in Pearson Hall gymnasium.
Cost is $25 for students and $50 for others.
Private instruction also is available at the rate of $20 per hour
or $50 for three hours.

Parallel moves
The University Parallel Program office at the Delaware Technical
and Community College in Dover has relocated to Room 214 of the Terry
Campus Building.
