HTAC auditions
     The Harrington Theatre Arts Company will hold auditions for its
production of the musical Guys and Dolls from 6-10 p.m., Thursday,
Feb. 8, and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, in 140 Smith Hall.
     Those interested should be prepared to perform a song and to

Library hours
     Winter Session examination and intersession hours, from Feb. 2-4,
at the Morris Library are 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2; 9 a.m.-7
p.m., Saturday, Feb. 3; and closed on Sunday, Feb. 4.
     Spring semester hours, from Feb. 5-March 21, are 8 a.m.-midnight,
Mondays-Thursdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Fridays; 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays;
and 11 a.m.-midnight, Sundays.


Martial arts
     Lessons in Pasa Ryu martial arts self-defense, sponsored by the
Recreation and Intramurals Program, will be held for 12 consecutive
Saturdays, from Feb. 3-April 20.
     Sessions will be offered at 10 a.m. for 6-12 year olds and at 11
a.m. for students 13 years and older.
     Fee is $45 per person, $55 for two family members and $75 per
family (for three or more immediate family members).
     Sessions will be conducted by David Finnie, UD community police
officer and a second-degree black belt in Pasa Ryu martial arts.

Intramurals
     Registration for early spring sports-men's, women's and co-ed
leagues in basketball, indoor lacrosse, soccer, wallyball,
racquetball, table tennis and badminton-will be held from 8 a.m.-4
p.m., Monday-Friday, Feb. 5-9, in the Carpenter Sports Building lobby.
     Cost is $25 for team sports and $5 for individual sports. Call

Hospice training
     Delaware Hospice, which provides support and comfort to patients
with life-limiting illnesses and their families in Delaware and
Southern Chester County, Pa., is seeking volunteers.
     Interested individuals are needed to assist with summer day camp
to be held during July for children dealing with loss and grief, to
relieve caregivers, to support family members, to help with fund
raisers, to increase community awareness and to provide clerical
assistance, errand and transportation help.
     Interviews are required. To obtain more information and schedule

Hens on the air
     WDEL radio's broadcasts of the University's men's and women's
basketball games are now being aired live on the campus cable
television system. When broadcast, the games run as the audio portion
of Channel 2, the campus guide to events at the University.


Cooking class
     Blue & Gold Club chef Daniel Beggs will direct a cooking class
from 5-9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, at the club. After preparing the four-
course dinner, participants will dine and enjoy their creations. Cost
is $25 per person, not $15 as was published previously in UpDate.

Career Check-up
     "Career Check-up," a workshop by Audrey Helfman, senior
management analyst and assistant professor of urban affairs and public
policy, will be offered from noon-1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2, in the
Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center.
     She will focus on such topics as determining career objectives,
measuring job satisfaction, making a job more satisfying and deciding
if a new job is needed.
     Also on the program will be Liane Sorenson, women's affairs,
speaking on UD professional development opportunities, and Richie
Holland, employee development, offering a spring program overview.
     Participants should bring lunch. Beverages will be provided.

     Diners can enjoy their favorite Italian dishes at the Blue & Gold
Club from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8. The buffet is $12.95 for adults,
