'Coke is it!' on campus

     The University has entered into an exclusive, seven-year contract
with Coca-Cola to offer only Coke products at campus locations in
Newark, Lewes and Wilmington.
     The agreement, which went into effect Jan. 1, will provide
financial support for University athletics, the Hotel, Restaurant and
Institutional Management Program and the general scholarship fund.
     Coca-Cola products have been the most popular soft-drink products
on campus for many years, according to Barbara Kreppel, assistant vice
president for administrative services. Moreover, the athletics
facilities have had an exclusive agreement with Coca-Cola for several
years, she said.
     Under the agreement, a variety of Coca-Cola products and other
brands under license to Coke will be sold, including Nestea Iced Tea,
Hershey's Chocolate Drink, Evian Water, Minute Maid juices and
Fruitopia soft drinks.
     The Philadelphia Bottling Co. is the primary distributor.
