Ice dance champions
Skaters training at the University swept the top three ice
dancing awards last week at the European Figure Skating Championships
in Sofia, Bulgaria. Oksana Gritschuk and Yvgeny Platov (shown here)
won their first European ice dance title, taking first place, with a
routine performed to Latin music, which received 5.8s and 5.9s.
Gritschuk and Platov won the Olympic title in 1994. The second- and
third-place winning partners are Russia's Anjelika Krylova and Oleg
Ovsiannikov and the Ukraine's Irina Romanova and Igor Yaroschenko.
