Book artist to speak in library
     Book artist Carol Barton will present a slide presentation and
demonstration from 1-4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 24, in the Class of 1941
Lecture Room in the Morris Library.
     Her talk, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the
Department of Art.

Bus trip to see Hens' home game
     A bus trip to see the Fightin' Blue Hens take on Hartford in the
Bob Carpenter Center will leave from three Southern Delaware locations
on Friday, Jan. 26.
     Cost, including transportation and game ticket, is $12.
Participants can bring a "brown bag" lunch and eat on the bus or
purchase food at the Carpenter Center.
     The bus will depart from Lewes at 5 p.m., from Milford at 5:30
p.m. and from Dover at 6 p.m.

Sen. John Williams is topic of talk
     The next lecture in "The Scholar and the Library: Recent Research
in the Humanities and Social Sciences" series will be presented from
noon-1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 2, in the Class of 1941 Lecture Room in the
Morris Library.
     Carol E. Hoffecker, Richards Professor of History, will speak on
"John Williams, the Conscience of the Senate." The series is sponsored
by the University of Delaware Library Assembly of Professional Staff.
Brown-bag lunches are welcome.
      The speaker series, which is held during the lunch hour
throughout the academic year, is designed to enable UD humanities and
social science scholars to speak to library staff and the University
community about their recent research activities and how library
resources and services were used in that research.
     Svend E. Holsoe, anthropology, will speak on March 15.
