Nominations due
     Nominations are due March 1 for the 1995-96 excellence-in-
teaching and excellence-in-advising awards.
     The Faculty Senate Committee on Student and Faculty Honors is
soliciting help from members of the University community to identify
faculty members who merit consideration for these awards.
     Nomination forms are available from the Faculty Senate Office,
219 McDowell Hall.
     Recipients will be announced May 3 at Honors Day.

Extension on-line
     New Castle County Cooperative Extension office has an on-line
information service called NCCExt-List.
     The list is an automated e-mail service developed to inform area
clientele about extension programs in horticulture, agriculture, home
economics and 4-H and youth.

Art reception
     The opening reception for an exhibit in Clayton Hall has been
moved to Friday, Jan. 19, because of last week's snowstorms.
     The exhibition, which features watercolors by area artists John
Dumel and Cynthia Swanson, is on display through Feb. 10 in the
gallery of Clayton Hall.
     The free opening reception, originally scheduled on Friday, Jan.
12, will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19.
     Dumel is showing landscapes and seascapes inspired by his
travels, and Swanson is represented by architectural pencil drawings
and bright floral watercolors.
     The free public exhibition is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.., Mondays
through Fridays.


Purchase orders
     Purchasing will not mail paper copies of purchase orders to
departments.
     All purchase order information is available on-line on the MVS
administrative mainframe.
     To obtain purchasing query access, send a completed copy of the
request form located on the "Forms" Bulletin Board in the EMC2 mail
system.

Basketball nights
     The men's and women's basketball teams are offering special
ticket discounts to members of the University community for two
upcoming games.
     The Bob Carpenter Center box office is offering two free tickets
to the women's game against the University of Vermont on Jan. 21, and
a buy-one, get-one-free offer for the men's game against the
University of Maine on Feb. 9.

Girls Inc. award
     Girls Inc. of Delaware will hold its annual luncheon June 7 to
present three Delaware women the organization's "She Knows Where She's
Going" award. The honor recognizes professional women who have
achieved success in their chosen fields and the positive roles they
play as models for women and girls in Delaware.
     Nominations must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 16. To request

Cooking class
     Blue & Gold Club chef Daniel Beggs will direct a cooking class
from 5-9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5, at the club. After preparing the four-
course dinner, participants will dine and enjoy their creations. Cost
is $15 per person.
