New officer

     William Texter is sworn in as an officer of the UD Police by
Maxine Colm, vice president for employee relations. Texter attended
the 47th Municipal Police Recruit Class at the Delaware State Police
Academy from July-December 1995. He received more than 840 hours of
law enforcement training, ranging from constitutional law to manual
traffic control, during the 21-week course. After six weeks of field
training on campus, Texter will be assigned to a squad in the
Department of Public Safety. Also at the ceremony from public safety
were (from left) Joseph Evans, Lawrence Thornton and Douglas Tuttle.
