Letter from the VP for Employee Relations - 1995 Merit Award Program
To: Professional and Salaried Staff
From: Maxine Colm
Vice President for Employee Relations
Re: 1995 Merit Award Program, Professionals and Salaried Staff
I am pleased to announce that we will soon be seeking nominations
for the 1995 Professional and Salaried Staff Merit Award Program.
The program recognizes outstanding individual contributions to
the University and consists of a one-time cash award not built into
base salary.
Based upon consultation with PAC, meritorious professionals will
continue to receive merit awards of $1,000; up to 50 professionals
will be eligible for merit consideration. Salaried staff, through
their SSAC representatives, have again requested that the $50,000
allocations for their award program be made available as $500 awards
for up to 100 salaried staff.
Each vice president will announce the nomination process that
will be followed in his or her respective units. It is important that
we have a broad pool of nominees and I encourage your participation in
the process. To that end, information on the program guidelines are
printed below, together with a sample nomination form. Your assistance
in identifying colleagues who have contributed richly to the
University during the past year is encouraged.
A reception will be held on April 22 to recognize this year's
award recipients and their names will also be published in UpDate.
If you have any questions concerning implementation of the merit
award program, please call Bob Martin at 831-6651.
