Continuing a tradition

Mark Tozer, transportation services, received a special holiday
greeting from his 88-year-old grandmother, Fran Tozer, in Florida. She
sent him a Christmas card that has been sent to different family
members since 1933.
It features a kilted Scotsman who should be acclaimed a national
hero for his thrift and recycling efforts for 63 Decembers.
The card's verse reads, in part:

        These ca-r-r-ds are verra costly,
Sae next Christmas will ye be,
Sae quid tae tear awa' a "tab"
An' send it back to me.

When Tozer's great aunt first received the card from his
grandmother, she complied with the request as a joke, and a tradition
was born.
The wee Scot and his yearly travels have received attention in
the press as well, so the card is accompanied by its clippings from
newspapers in New York, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland
and Texas.
"I am the first one in my generation to receive the card. It has
kept the family in touch, and for all I know may set a record as the
oldest Christmas card still making the rounds," Tozer said.
