Trustees meeting
The fall semiannual meeting of the University Board of Trustees
is scheduled for 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, in Room 120 Clayton Hall.
Open house
New Castle County Cooperative Extension will hold an open house
from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14,
at its new location, 910 South Chapel St., Newark.
There will be a number of displays and information areas,
including cruising the Internet, Guiding Paws 4-H Club puppies,
nutrition and food safety and other food and agricultural-related
topics.
Master gardeners and master food education volunteers will be
present, and light refreshments will be served.

Staff luncheon
The University Staff Association's monthly luncheon will be held
from noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20, in the Rodney Room of the
Perkins Student Center.
Professional storyteller Ed Okonowicz, public relations, will
present "Stories for the Holidays."
The menu includes chicken breast primavera with vegetables, fruit
cup, dessert and beverages. Cost is $8.75 per person. Brown baggers
will be charged 25 cents.

Festival of lights
An interfaith Celebration of Lights, commemorating Hanukkah and
Advent, will be held at 7 tonight in the Rodney Room of the Perkins
Student Center.
The event is sponsored by the Wesley Foundation and the Hillel
Center.
Conference
Registration forms are available for the 12th annual Delaware
Women's Conference, scheduled for March 2 at Clayton Hall.
This year's theme is "Anything is Possible," and Wilma P.
Mankiller, Cherokee principal chief, will give the keynote address.

Basketball nights
The men's and women's basketball teams are offering special
ticket discounts to members of the University community for two
upcoming games.
The Bob Carpenter Center box office is offering two free tickets
to the women's game against the University of Vermont on Jan. 21, and
a buy-one, get-one-free offer for the men's game against the
University of Maine on Feb. 9.

Club schedule
The Blue and Gold Club will be closed beginning Saturday, Dec.
23, for winter recess. Regular hours of operation will resume at 11:30
a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Computing hours
Hours of operation for the Harrington Computer Site have been
expanded. New hours are 9 a.m.-2 a.m., Mondays-Thursdays; 9 a.m.-6
p.m., Fridays; noon-6 p.m., Saturdays; and noon- 2 a.m., Sundays.
Open hearing
The University Faculty Senate Committee on Undergraduate Studies
will hold an open hearing from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20,
in Room 120 Smith Hall, to discuss provisional approval for a new
bachelor's degree in computer engineering.
Copies of the proposal are available for review at the Department
of Electrical Engineering in Room 142 Evans Hall, the reserve section
of Morris Library and the University Faculty Senate office in Room 219
McDowell Hall.
Country dancing
Open country line dancing will be held from 9-11:30 p.m., Friday,
Dec. 8, in the Carpenter Sports Building. Lessons begin at 8 p.m.
Cost, including the lesson and light refreshments, is $4 for
students and $6 for the general public.
The event is sponsored by the Ballroom Dance Club at the
University.

The Deltones will hold an a cappella holiday concert at 8 p.m.,
Friday, Dec. 8, in Pearson Hall auditorium.
