Gore Hall

     This architect's drawing of the new Gore Hall shows the portico
that will face the Mall. Mitchell Hall and Sharp Laboratory are
visible at the left and right edge of the frame, respectively.
     The new classroom building, designed by noted architect Allan
Greenberg, is made possible by a $15 million gift from alumnus and
trustee Robert W. Gore, alumna Sarah I. Gore and Genevieve W. Gore.
Construction on Gore Hall, the first addition to the tree-lined heart
of the Mall since Sharp Laboratory was built in 1961-62, is scheduled
to begin next summer, with completion expected in the fall of 1997.
