Book fair
The Education Resource Center and the College School will hold a
book fair from 2-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5; 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.,
Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 6-7; and 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Friday,
Dec. 8, in Room 018 of the Willard Hall Education Building.
High quality, new books for children and adolescents will be sold
at 5 percent off the list prices.
The sale benefits the College School and the Education Resource
Center's expanding collection of multicultural books.

Seafood cookbook
Seafood Delaware Style, a cookbook with more than 30 recipes for
appetizers, entrees, soups and salads, is available to the public.
Doris Hicks, seafood technology specialist with the Delaware Sea
Grant Advisory Service, is the author, and much of the material is
based upon information she has shared in her presentations on seafood
preparation with audiences of all ages.
Each recipe includes preparation times, serving suggestions and
nutrition information, such as calorie, protein, fat and sodium
content.
Cost is $4 per copy, which includes shipping and handling. To
order, send your mailing address-along with a check or money order,
payable to University of Delaware-to: Marine Communications Office,

Healthy hotline
Master food educators associated with Cooperative Extension will
staff a Healthy Holiday Hotline from noon-4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21,
and Wednesday, Nov. 22.
The service will respond to last-minute questions people have
about recipes, food substitutions and safety, leftovers and healthy
meal planning.

Master gardeners
Master Gardener training programs are offered through Cooperative
Extension. Volunteers receive 45 hours of horticultural training in
return for volunteer service in one of several committees with widely
diverse programs, including answering lawn and garden questions,
teaching workshops, cultivating children's interest in horticulture
and planning and maintaining demonstration and display gardens.
Training starts in early February. The application deadline is
Dec. 31.

The National Society of Black Engineers is offering a session on
creating HTML documents for the WorldWide Web at 7 tonight in Room
009B of the Willard Hall Education Building.
Hillel semiformal
Hillel will hold its annual semiformal event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.,
Saturday, Nov. 18, at Mirage restaurant on Elkton Road.
Cost is $8 for members and $10 for nonmembers.

Craft show
The second weekend of the 19th annual Holiday Crafts Show will be
held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 25 and 26, in
Clayton Hall.
Admission is $1 per person. Children under 12 and UD staff with
ID will be admitted for free.
Tool for sale
The University Housing Carpenter Shop has a Hitachi F1000A 12"
planer 6" joiner for sale.
The tool is 10 years old and in fair condition.

Social Security info
The Social Security Administration has announced the maximum
taxable earnings and the rates for FICA and FICA Medicare for 1996.
While the rates have remained the same, the taxable earnings have
increased.
The FICA rate is 6.2 percent on earnings up to $62,700 for a
maximum employee tax of $3,887.40. The FICA Medicare rate is 1.45
percent with no limit on earnings and no maximum on the employee tax.
During 1995, the maximum taxable earnings were $61,200 for FICA
and no limit for FICA Medicare.

An Evening with the University of Delaware will be held from 7-10
p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Clayton Hall.

admissions, academic programs, residence life and housing and

E-52 Theatre will present Torch Song Trilogy at 8 p.m., Thursdays-
Saturdays, Dec. 1-3 and 7-9.
There also will be a 2 p.m. presentation on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Tickets are $4 and can be purchased at the door.
Gospel concert
The University of Delaware Gospel Choir will present its fall
"Gospelrama," an evening of worship through song, dance and music, at
5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, in the auditorium of Pearson Hall.
Admission is free, but an offering will be requested.
