3 alumni return for PTTP benefit
Three outstanding graduates of the University of Delaware's
Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) will fill Hartshorn Hall
with music on Tuesday, Nov. 14, as they present an evening of
"Broadway Melodies," beginning at 7:30 p.m. Audience members will be
able to meet the performers at a champagne and dessert reception that
follows.
During their return to Newark, they will perform selections from
such Broadway greats as Sunset Boulevard, Les Miserables, Sweeney
Todd, The Music Man and more.
Performing will be: Linda Balgord, PTTP class of '87, who
recently performed on Broadway in the Stephen Sondheim/James Lapine
collaboration, Passion, where she covered and performed the leading
role of Fosca. Price Waldman, PTTP class of '92, won the 1993 Bay Area
Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.
He was classically trained at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and
since graduating from PTTP has been performing major roles in plays
and musicals such as Assassins, Fiddler on the Roof and Into the
Woods.
Victoria Adams, PTTP Class of '95, has been singing and
performing since the age of 3. She has played leading roles in such
musicals as Little Shop of Horrors, She Loves Me and Three Penny
Opera. She also has done musical voice-overs for television and radio.
Tickets are $35 ($20 of which is tax deductible) and will
benefit the next class of PTTP students. Free parking and shuttle bus
service will be provided for the evening. Seating is limited. For

Women in law focus of session
A colloquium on "Women in the Law: Findings of the Delaware
Gender Fairness Task Force," will be presented from 10:10-11 a.m.,
Friday, Nov. 10, in Room 204 of the Willard Hall Education Building.
Susan Del Pesco, New Castle County Superior Court judge, will
review the history of women in law, focusing on the state of Delaware,
as well as some of the highlights of the task force report.
The session is sponsored by the Legal Studies Program. For
