Pianist to represent state at Kennedy Center gala

     Christine Delbeau, music, was selected by the office of U.S. Sen.
William Roth to represent the state of Delaware at the celebration
honoring the 25th anniversary of the Kennedy Center for the Performing
Arts in Washington, D.C.
     She will present a one-hour recital in the Grand Foyer of the
center on Saturday, Nov. 18. Each state was invited to nominate one
artist to participate in the various events taking place through the
fall to mark the cultural center's anniversary.
     Delbeau has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in
several well-known concert halls, such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln
Center, the Carnegie-Weill Recital Hall and Boston's Jordan Hall. A
winner of several national piano competitions, she has appeared as
concerto soloist with numerous orchestras, including symphonies in
Delaware, Oklahoma and Austin, and she recently completed a series of
chamber music recitals in Italy.
