Consider an alternative

     Top alternative band The Jesus and Mary Chain will headline a
show at the Bob Carpenter Center at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, and
tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 7, at the Perkins Student
Center and Bob Carpenter Center box offices and through TicketMaster.
     A convenience charge may apply. Tickets are $10 for full-time UD
undergraduates with UD#1 Card (limit four), $14 for other members of
the University community and $18 for the general public. The Jesus and
Mary Chain (from left, Ben Lurie, Jim Reid and William Reid) has a new
release, Stoned and Dethroned, that is doing well on the
college/alternative chart in Billboard. Very special guest for the
concert will be Mazzy Star, currently touring in support of So Tonight
That I Might See, and also appearing is Velvet Crush, whose latest
release is Teenage Symphonies to God.
     The concert is sponsored by the Student Center Program Advisory
