Holiday correction
The 1994 end-of-the-year holiday break will begin at 5 p.m.,
Friday, Dec. 23. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3, not
Monday as was stated in last week's UpDate.
Campus health fair
A Breast Cancer/Health Fair will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.,
Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student Center.
The program will include panel discussions, information on breast
examination, risk factors and services available to those who are
diagnosed with the most common form of cancer in American women.
The program is co-sponsored by Student Health Services, the
Office of Women's Affairs, Wellspring, Residence Life and the Faculty
and Staff Assistance Program.

Tuition exchange
Applications are available for those interested in participating
in the University's Tuition Exchange Program (TEP) for fall 1995.
Under the terms of the program, dependent children of eligible faculty
and staff may apply to attend one of approximately 300 colleges and
universities participating in the national consortium.
The dependent must meet the resident institution's admission
requirements.
TEP can be used in conjunction with the University's tuition
remission program, which applies to full-time, matriculated
undergraduate students.

Completed applications must be returned to Employee Services by
Oct. 24.
Late applications will not be accepted.
Big Brothers sought
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Delaware is looking for male
volunteers to work with boys from single-parent families. Two on-
campus informational meetings will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the
Perkins Student Center: at 12:15 p.m. in the Collins Room and at 5
p.m. in the Kirkwood Room.

Racing at Fair Hill
The Cecil County Breeders' Fair is inviting University students
to attend the Fair Hill Steeplechase Races free.
Post time is 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, but events begin at noon
with exhibition pony races. including the "Junior Gobblins Gallop,"
with kids in costume. There also will be food, drink and pari-mutuel
wagering.
Students must present a valid UD#1 Card to be admitted free, and
children under 12 are admitted free if they are accompanied by an
adult. General tickets are $5 for adults. Parking is free, but
tailgate parking spots are $75 and must be purchased in advance by
calling (410) 398-6565.
The race track is in Maryland at the intersection of routes 273
and 213.
Theatre discounts
The Wilmington Drama League is offering discount coupons that
provide $2 off the ticket price for University faculty and staff who
bring the coupon to the league when buying tickets. Coupons are
available at the University of Delaware Credit Union.
Those who cannot visit the credit union office at 417 Academy St.
can call 821-2327, and the coupons will be mailed.
Seniors' night
The Blue and Gold Club's Senior Citizens Night will be held from
5-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20.
The evening features a three-course meal for $10.

Symphony concert
The Newark Symphony Orchestra kicks off its concert season at
7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 23, in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E.
du Pont Music Building with a program that includes Rodeo and Fanfare
for the Common Man by Aaron Copland. Tickets are $10 for general
admission and $8 for students and senior citizens.

Travel awards
The Commission on the Status of Women is now taking applications
for the Special Travel Award Program that supports travel for women
and men participating in professional activities involving women's
issues.
Only faculty and professional staff are eligible.
The deadline is Nov. 1 for the fall semester and April 1 for the
spring semester.

Official enrollment
Official enrollment figures for the fall semester add up to
14,870 undergraduate students on the Newark campus, 664 undergraduate
students in the Parallel Program, 3,210 graduate students and 2,841
continuing education students, for a total enrollment of 21,585.
Last year's total fall enrollment was 21,085.
