SERVICE AND AWARDS

     Helen Liang Tang Yates, Student Health Services, will be honored
     Oct. 28 as 1994 Community Builder by the National Conference of
     Christians and Jews, Delaware Region. Yates was recognized for
     her contributions to the community through her work with the
     American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the American Cancer
     Society, Delaware Hospice, Parents Without Partners, Church of
     the Holy Child and the University.

     Karl W. Boer, Distinguished Professor of Physics and Solar
     Energy, received a patent on Aug. 23 for "Inverse Delta-Doping
     for Improved Open Circuit Voltage of Solar Cells or Photo
     Diodes."
