Employees donate $100,00-plus

So far this year, the University Employee Annual Campaign has
received a total of $102,349 from 273 employees, including $50,183 in
outright gifts and $52,166 from others through the annual giving
payroll deduction plan.
"All of us associated with the University have a unique
appreciation for the programs and services that provide so many
outstanding educational opportunities for our students," according to
Charles Forbes, vice president for development.
"We know, too, that were it not for the thoughtful and generous
support of our alumni, friends, faculty and staff, and other members
of the University family," Forbes said, "we would not be able to enjoy
the many benefits that have been provided over the years as a result
of their gifts to the University."
Of those contributors, 84 current and retired employees are
members of the Delaware Diamonds Society, established to honor the
University's most generous benefactors. Diamonds contribute a minimum
of $5,000 over a five-year period.
The designation of Benefactor is reserved for those who donate
$10,000 or more, and a $25,000 contribution earns the Senior
Benefactor designation.
The 1743 Society, the University's other gift recognition
organization, is named after the year of the University's founding
and recognizes donors who contribute to the University at the $250 and
above level.
Contributions can be made by payroll deduction, check, credit
card or electronic draft.
