Marketing Group established

     A campus-wide Marketing Group has been established to share
expertise, coordinate activities and explore and exploit the potential
for advertising, promotion and sponsorships associated with University
events.
     The group was formed as part of a recommendation to University
President David P. Roselle from the Entertainment Events Committee.
     At the group's first meeting this summer, Alvin B. Roberson,
associate treasurer, discussed the federal tax implications of
advertising and sponsorship. Other guests have been Charles M. Forbes,
vice president for development and alumni relations, and Robert R.
Davis, director of alumni and University relations.
     John Brennan, assistant director of public relations, chairs the
Marketing Group. Other members are Gail Armstrong, publications;
Elaine Brenchley, music; Tracey Bryant, marine studies; Martha
Carothers, art; Belena Chapp, University Gallery; Marti Collins-Owens,
University and alumni relations; Doris Crowley, agricultural
communications; Julie Demgen, student center; Vernese Edghill, Center
for Black Culture; Cyndi Haley, ice arena; Kathleen Houghton,
development; Nadine Howatt, Professional Theatre Training Program;
Scott Mason, student center; Scott Selheimer, sports information;
Domenick Sicilia, Carpenter Center; Gary Simpson; University and
alumni relations; Edward Stoner, public relations; Elyse Stoner,
athletics; and Joyce Walter, Student Health Services.
