Hens' season opener in Delaware Stadium
     The Fightin' Blue Hens will open at home against West Chester
University at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 9.
     The home schedule also includes games against Villanova
University, 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16; Youngstown State University, 1
p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7; Richmond University, 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct.
14, Homecoming; University of Maine, 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28; and
the College of William and Mary, 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4.
     Away games will be played at Boston University, 1 p.m., Saturday,
Sept. 23; Northeastern University, 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30; James
Madison University, 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21; the U.S. Naval Academy,
1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11; and Rhode Island University, 1 p.m.,
Saturday, Nov. 18.

1996 NAC tourney in Carpenter Center
     The Bob Carpenter Center will be the site next March of the 1996
North Atlantic Conference (NAC) men's basketball tournament.
     All NAC tournament games had been held previously on the campus
site of the higher seeded team.
     Under the revised format, next year's first-round, quarterfinal
and semifinal games will be played at one site, the Bob Carpenter
Center, from March 1-3.
     The championship game will be played on the home court of the
higher seeded finalist on March 7.


UD ice skaters return victorious
     Skaters who train at the University's Ice Skating Science
Development Center  returned with medals and awards from the Olympic
Sports Festival, held July 22-23 in Denver.
     Paul Dulebohn and Nicole Perry, who compete in junior pairs,
received a gold medal.
     Philip Dulebohn and Ann MacWilliams received a third place pewter
medal in the same category.
     Matt Evers and Heather Allebach, competing in novice pairs, came
in sixth place.
     A fourth team from UD, Tom Gaasbeck and Christie Moxley, had to
withdraw from competition in the junior dance category due to an
injury.
