Cliff Brumbaugh honored by ABCA
Cliff Brumbaugh, UD third baseman, was named second team All-
American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
This was his fifth major award of the season. He was named North
Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Year, first team Eastern
Collegiate Athletic Conference All-East, first team ABCA All-East and
third team National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-
American.
Brumbaugh led the Blue Hens to a school record 45-14 mark and the
NAC title this past season.
He led the team in nine offensive categories, batting .442 with
56 runs batted, a school record of 32 doubles and 15 stolen bases. He
led the nation in doubles and ranked seventh in batting average.
Brumbaugh was drafted in the 13th round by the Texas Rangers and
signed with the team. He is playing with the Hudson Valley, N.Y.,
team.
