SERVICE AND AWARDS
Linda Dion and Jane Noble-Harvey, life and health sciences, were
selected by their students in the Division of Continuing
Education as outstanding instructors in the education of adult
students.
Ed Okonowicz, public relations, served on the Delaware Division
of the Arts panel April 24 to evaluate applicants for arts in
education residencies in literature and storytelling.
David Shearer, history, received an IREX grant for summer
research in Russia on Soviet interwar social history.
David L. Ames, urban affairs and public policy and geography, was
elected chairperson of the National Council for Preservation
Education.
Eric L. Denson, counseling and student development, was named
editor of Academic Athletic Journal.
R.B. Carroll, plant and soil sciences, served on the program
committee and distinguished service award committee for the
American Phytopathological Society, Potomac division meeting,
March 22-24, in Blacksburg, Va. He also serves as councilor for
the division.
T.A. Evans, plant and soil sciences, chaired the nominations and
elections committee and distinguished service award committee and
served as judge of the graduate student paper competition.
Graduate student R. Power received the second place award for his
paper at the meeting.
