Pre-game buffets
The Blue and Gold Club will feature activities to accompany each
home football game. Before the game, a breakfast buffet will be
available from 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Cost is $9.50 for adults, $5 for
children ages 5-11 and free for children under 5. The price includes
bus transportation to and from the game.
The club also will offer catering service for tailgate parties
and happy hour in the Tavern after the game.
The first home game is Sept. 24. Call UD1-CLUB for details,
reservations or a membership application.
Volunteer fair
The Center for Intercultural Teacher Education (CITE) has
scheduled a volunteer fair from 4- 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, in
007 Willard Hall Education Building.
Representatives from 10 nonprofit organizations each will give
three-minute presentations about their organizations and how students
can volunteer. All University students are invited to attend.
Participating organizations will include UNICEF, Read Aloud
Delaware, Colonial School District, Newark High School, Newark Manor
Nursing Home, Police Athletic League of Delaware (PAL), New Castle
County Parks and Recreation and Boys and Girls Club of Bear.
Literacy classes
Literacy improvement classes will begin Tuesday, Oct. 4, for
employees who have been previously enrolled. Classes will be held from
3:30-5 p.m.,Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Employee Services Training
Room. Tutors will be assigned to all individuals who are new to the
program.

Staff luncheon
The University Staff Association and the Office of Women's
Affairs will co-sponsor a luncheon on "Personal Safety," from noon-1
p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Rodney Room of the Perkins Student
Center.
Participants may bring a brown bag lunch, and a beverage will be
provided by women's affairs. To make reservations, send your name and
department to Vicki Taylor, Department of Entomology and Applied
Ecology, no later than Sept. 22. No phone calls please.
Honor society
The Golden Key National Honor Society will hold a general meeting
for all members and others interested in service activities at 8 p.m.,
Monday, Sept. 19, in the Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center.
