Arts and science faculty awards

     Arts and Science Faculty Awards were presented to three
professors in the college at an April 5 reception at Clayton Hall.
This is the second year of the program.
     Selected by the ad hoc faculty awards committee of the Arts and
Science Senate, honorees received a plaque, a $1,000 cash award and
were entitled to designate a deserving graduate or undergraduate
student for a  $1,000 Faculty Choice Award scholarship.
     Mary Donaldson-Evans, professor of foreign languages and
literatures, received the award for outstanding teaching and chose
graduate student Erica Witzig of Mount Laurel, N.J., for the student
award. Dennis Evans, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, received
the award for outstanding scholarship and selected junior Kevin
Connell of Wilmington. Frank Dilley, professor of philosophy, received
the award for outstanding service and selected sophomore Jennifer Ann
Gilman of Manhasset, N.Y.
     Present at the Arts and Science Faculty Awards ceremony were

of the awards), Kevin Connell, Dennis Evans; (front row) Erica Witzig,
Mary Donaldson-Evans, Dean Mary Richards, Jennifer Ann Gilman and
Frank Dilley. Not present was 1994 winner James Inciardi.
