25th annual Earth Day fest on the North Mall April 22

     The 25th anniversary of Earth Day will be celebrated around the
country on Saturday, April 22. Activities on the UD campus will be
centered on the North Mall between Delaware Avenue and Main Street.
     The Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) is sponsoring a
campus/community celebration that will include booths, food, music and
entertainment for all ages.
     Families are encouraged to attend, as there will be a number of
children-oriented activities.
     Numerous exhibits will address environmental issues related to
water and air quality, rainforests, waste production, energy
consumption and wildlife preservation.
     In addition, information will be presented on current bills
before the U.S. Congress, environmental product information,
petitions, polls and environmental books.
     Nearly three dozen organizations, businesses and governmental
agencies are planning to participate.
     All food provided will be vegetarian and served on napkins. Mugs
will be available for discount prices on beverages at Main Street
merchants. Recycling receptacles will be present.
     There is no raindate for the event.     For additional
