Up and coming
Grad students' works on display
Selected UD graduate students have their art work included in an
exhibition at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts through
May 24.
The students, all working toward a master of fine arts degree at
the University, are David Meyer, Gabriel Villa and Rosemary Holt
Wilson, all of Newark; Anna Chupa and Gerard Piotrowski, both of
Wilmington; Linda Day of Baltimore; David Haas of Kutztown, Pa.;
Robert Lake of Hornell, N.Y.; James Lee of Berrien Springs, Mich.;
Robin Tedesco of Havertown, Pa.; and Mary Zipf of Minneapolis.
A reception will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 5, and an
open forum is scheduled at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 17.
The gallery is located at 103 East 16th St., Wilmington, and
hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays; and 1-5 p.m.,
Saturdays and Sundays.
The exhibition is made possible by the Delaware Division of the
Arts, a state agency committed to enhancing and supporting the arts in
Delaware, and the University.

Fraternity to hold Baltimore cruise
Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity is sponsoring Kappa Kabaret 1995, a
cruise under the stars on the waters of the Inner Harbor in Baltimore
on Saturday, May 13.
Boarding is at 11 p.m., with departure at 11:30 p.m. from the
harbor on the Bay Lady Cruiser. Cost is $20 per person. Transportation
to Baltimore can be provided.

Art exhibition in Perkins gallery
An art exhibition, featuring artwork by lesbian, gay and bisexual
artists, will be presented on Monday, April 17, in the gallery of the
Perkins Student Center.
Chess champion at Christiana Mall
Paul Powell, Delaware chess champion, will take on as many as 40
challengers at an exhibition from noon-5 p.m., Saturday, April 15, in
front of Strawbridge & Clothier at the Christiana Mall in Newark.
Powell will play against walk-up contenders free of charge at any
of the 40 chess boards that will be on display. The event is sponsored
by the Chess Club of the University of Delaware.

Meditation class in Pearson Hall
A "Learn to Meditate" session will be held from 7-9 p.m.,
Tuesday, April 18, in Pearson Hall auditorium. The speaker will be
Sujantra McKeever, author of Strategy for Success and other books on
meditation and Eastern philosophy.

Policy forum on high-tech info
The Delaware Public Administration Institute, a unit of the
College of Urban Affairs and Public Policy, will conduct a Delaware
Policy Forum entitled "An Information Policy for Delaware: Issues in
Public Service, Access, Cost and Privacy," from 8:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m.,
Friday, April 21, at the Sheraton Inn in Dover.
The forum will present national level speakers and address a
number of different issues related to the Internet, online data and
electronic communication.
Registration is $40 per person and includes a continental
