Spring schedule; PTTP to end season with three performances

The University's Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) has
announced its final rotation of performances in Hartshorn Hall for the
1995 spring season: Picnic, Richard III and Playing the Palace.
Picnic, a classic of the American stage by William Inge, is set
in a small Kansas town. As the women prepare for the annual Labor Day
picnic, a young, wild drifter adds a final sizzle to the summer,
stirring up dusty passions and youthful desires. Seats are still
available for evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on April 19, 20 and
23, and for a 12:30 p.m.. matinee on Sunday, April 30.
One of Shakespeare's masterpieces, Richard III, reveals the
vengeful vices of humankind. This history tells the tale of one evil
man as he seeks power and control by conniving against anyone who
stands in his way. Seats are available for evening shows at 7:30 p.m.
on April 26-27 and May 4, and for a matinee performance at 12:30 p.m.,
Saturday, April 29.
Playing the Palace is a parody of theatre that uses romance,
irony and paradoxical circumstances to entertain and entwine its
audience. A true play within a play, the story revolves around a
playwright in search of characters and a plot who finds his
masterpiece in an overheard conversation, a delightful and funny
reminder that real life provides the perfect script. Seats are
available for evening performances scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on April 22,
28, 30 and May 3, and for a matinee at 12:30 p.m. on April 23.
Tickets for the general public are $13 for Friday and Saturday
evenings, $12 for weeknights and $10 for matinees and Sunday evening
performances. Reduced rates are available for senior citizens, UD
faculty and staff and area students. For ticket information, contact
the Hartshorn Hall box office at 831-2204.
