Assistance program's name changed
The name of the Employee Assistant and Wellness Program has been
changed to the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) to clarify
its mission.
The program offers mental health counseling, assessment and
referral services to help faculty and staff cope with personal, family
and work-related concerns. FSAP is a confidential resource, offered
free of charge and staffed by trained mental health professionals,
including Cecily Sawyer Harmon, program coordinator and a licensed
clinical social worker; Marvin Brams, associate professor in the
College of Urban Affairs and Public Policy and a board-certified
mental health counselor and psychotherapist; and Darlene I. Sharp, a
counselor specializing in alcohol and substance abuse issues.
The FSAP staff will, when requested, give informal presentations
about the program's services to groups of faculty and staff.
Calls for personal appointments are held in strict confidence,
and persons seeking assistance will not have their status or other
conditions of employment jeopardized in any way through their
involvement with FSAP services.
For information, to set up a presentation or for a personal
appointment and assistance, call 831-2414.
