SERVICE AND AWARDS

     Gary Laverty, life and health sciences, appointed to a National
     Science Foundation panel on research planning grants and career
     advancement awards for women scientists and engineers.

     David W. Haslett, philosophy, had his book, Capitalism with
     Morality, selected as Book of the Year for 1994 by the North
     American Society for Social Philosophy.

     Belena S. Chapp, University Gallery at Old College, juried an
     exhibition of works by the Council of Delaware Artists, which
     will open April 3 at Hardcastle Gallery, Wilmington, and then
     travel to the Sussex County Arts Council, the Dover Art League
     and Delaware State University as part of a 40th anniversary
     celebration. A second curated exhibition, featuring art by CODA
     members selected by Chapp, will be on exhibit from April 3-May 26
     at the Delaware Division of the Arts Gallery II, Carvel State
     Office Building, Wilmington.
