Employee giving sets new record

      alumni and friends to follow." University of Delaware employees
are giving this year to the University at levels a steady increase
each year since the program began in 1993.
     So far this year, 534 active and retired employees of the
University have given a total of $328,071. Authorized payroll
deductions will bring the total to approximately $353,000 by June 30.
The total for employee giving in fiscal year 1994 was $279,053.
     "Gifts we receive from faculty and staff members are especially
meaningful and important," Charles Forbes, vice president for
development and alumni relations, said.
     "They come, after all, from those who know us best and whose
demonstrated faith in our work is so clearly essential in helping us
achieve our shared successes. At another level, of course, they also
serve as wonderful examples for our alumni and friends to follow."
