Hillel fund to honor benefactor

Frank Chaiken of Wilmington, who, with his wife, Yetta,
established an endowment to advance the Jewish Studies Program at the
University, died Feb. 28.
The opening of the Frank and Yetta Chaiken Center for Jewish
Studies in 1994 was made possible by the couple's generosity.
Mr. and Mrs. Chaiken were honored at a reception in the center in
November 1994. Mr. Chaiken spoke of the couple's dedication to
education and how rewarding it was to be able to help the dream of a
Jewish Studies Center become a reality.
They also were instrumental in raising funds for the new Hillel
Student Center at the University. Yetta Chaiken is a UD graduate and a
daughter, Janice Selekman, is chairperson of the Department of
Nursing.
The family suggests contributions to the Hillel Student Center.
