'Lunch and Learn' offerings
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program offers "Lunch and Learn"
programs twice a month to University employees, designed to assist
individuals in maintaining a healthy lifestyle physically, mentally
and emotionally.
All of the free workshops are held from noon-1 p.m. in the
Perkins Student Center. Participants are encouraged to bring a brown
bag lunch. Beverages will be provided.
Registration is required. For information or to register, call
Darlene Sharp at 831-8308.
Upcoming programs include:
Stress management
Learn how to relieve stress and revitalize your spirit in a
"Stress Management" program to be presented by Charles Beale,
associate director of the Center for Counseling and Student
Development. He will show attendees how to identify "stressors" and
offer techniques on how to manage stress. This session is scheduled on
Wednesday, March 22, in the Kirkwood Room. The registration deadline
is March 20.
Scheduling help
"Balancing Act" is a two-part program to help alleviate some of
the pressures associated with the competitive demands of balancing
work and personal life to be presented by Donna Tuites, coordinator,
Office of Women's Affairs.
The first session, on Wednesday, April 12, in the Kirkwood Room,
will focus on identifying personal priorities and clarifying values.
The second session, on Wednesday, April 26, also in the Kirkwood Room,
will provide information on achieving those priorities by using new
coping responses, saying "no" and developing support systems.
Registration deadlines are April 10 for the first session and
April 24 for the second session.
Vacation tips
Learn to ask the right questions to get the best value for your
money and avoid the pitfalls of bargain vacations in "Vacation
Planning."
Donna Friswell of Charlie B/US Travel, will be the speaker on
Wednesday, May 10, in the Kirkwood Room. The registration deadline is
May 5.
Stepping out
Take a break, reduce stress and have fun learning "Line Dancing."
Bob Neeves, physical education, will instruct the class on Wednesday,
May 24, in the Kirkwood Room. Registration deadline is May 22.
