In recognition

     Karl W. Boer (left), Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Physics
and Solar Energy, and T.W. Fraser Russell, Allan P. Colburn Professor
of Chemical Engineering and director of the Institute of Energy
Conversion, were recognized Dec. 19 by the U.S. Department of Energy
for their contributions to thin-film photovoltaic research
development. They were honored at a special ceremony in Washington,
D.C.
