Charters available from UD TRANSIT

     Buses may be chartered though UD TRANSIT by any group affiliated
with the University on a first-come, first-served basis.
     Available are six handicapped-accessible University Transit
buses. These carry 49 passengers, if three to a seat, or 36
passengers, if two to a seat. There also are three University buses
that hold 56 passengers, three to a seat or 38 passengers, two to a
seat.
     Fees, including bus and driver, are $15 per hour ($45 minimum) in
the greater Newark area.
     Out of town fees are $8.35 per operating hour and $6.20 per
layover hour, plus $1.05 per mile.
     There are additional charges if the driver works overtime or if a
full-time bus driver is assigned the charter. Tolls, parking fees and
other trip-related expenses can be paid by the group on the trip or,
by prior arrangement, paid by the driver and later charged to the
group. Driver's meals and overnight accommodations also are paid by
the group.
     Requests for chartered bus service must be made on an FAI
(request for services form) and covered by an internal University
account code. Requests must be made at least one week in advance, but
it is recommended that requests be made as soon as possible.
     The following information must be included with all charter bus
requests:
        * Date of trip
        * Time and location of departure
        * Destination
        * Estimated time of return
        * Name and telephone number of contact person
     All transit service policies are in effect for charter bus
services.
