Career program helps employees explore, grow

     A new program, launched in the spring of 1994, offers salaried
staff members the opportunity to explore their career, assess their
skills and talents and plan for growth in the career of their choice.
     The program, entitled the Salaried Staff Career Development
Certificate Series, is comprised of six lunch time sessions, each
dedicated to a different aspect of career development planning.
     The sessions are instructed by University personnel representing
a wide range of units on campus.  For example, employment, resume
writing, interviewing and classification information is presented by
representatives for the Employee Services unit.
     A panel of representatives from Computing and Network Services,
admissions, continuing education, benefits and employee development
provide information on educational benefits accessible to further
career goals.
     The certificate series concludes with a goal-setting session, and
individual follow-up is available to participants.
