12 new Du Pont Scholars on campus

     The University has announced the recipients of the prestigious
Eugene du Pont Memorial Distinguished Scholar Awards for 1994.
     The awards are reserved for the most academically accomplished
students enrolling in the fall semester and include full tuition,
fees, room and board and stipend for books renewable for four years of
study.
     A faculty committee selects approximately 70 of the most
outstanding applicants to the University each year and invites them to
compete for one of the du Pont awards.
     This year, 12 scholars were chosen. Joining the campus community
are Brian Carter Atkinson of Allentown, Pa.; Douglas Michael DeLorenzo
of Wilmington; Richard Lee Emge of Edgewater, Md.; Matthew James Fouse
of Severn, Md.; Katie Anne Gustavsen of Turnersville, N.J.; Mary
"Mollie Colleen Mulvanity of Moundsville, W. Va.; Christy Ann
Prilutski of West Chester, Pa.; Marianne Christina Selkirk of
Holbrook, N.Y.; Daniel Geoffrey Steinberg of Fredonia, N.Y.; Barbara
Jill Trafton of Bowie, Md.; Laura Frances White of Newark; and Mark
Robert Wiening of West Chester, Pa.
