Sing a song
     Auditions for membership in Jubilieren, a symphonic community
choral ensemble under the direction of Peter J. McCarthy, music, will
be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 6, at the Thomas More Oratory, 45
Lovett Ave. in Newark. There are openings in all sections.
     The spring 1995 season will include appearances for civic
organizations and churches, as well as a program March 15 at the
Mansion in the Bellevue State Park in Wilmington.

Parent meeting
     Licensed psychologist Jay Ann Jemail will present a program on
"Learning Disabilities and the Family" at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7, in
313 Willard Hall Education Building.
     The public is welcome to attend this free program, which is part
of the monthly College School parent meeting.


Stop smoking
     The Employee Wellness Center will offer a smoking-cessation
workshop beginning Feb. 13. Each of the six-session workshops will be
led by a registered nurse from the Medical Center of Delaware. Follow-
up components-addressing maintenance of weight after smoking cessation
and designing an exercise program to meet participant needs-will be
offered.
     The workshop will be offered from 5-6 p.m., Mondays and
Wednesdays, Feb. 13, 15, 20, 22 and 27 and March 1, in 118 Sharp
Laboratory.
     In addition to these sessions, a follow-up meeting-with the date
and time to be scheduled at the convenience of the participants-will
occur about a month after the workshop, led by a nurse from the
Medical Center of Delaware.
     Workshop fee is $50, with $25 paid by the employee and $25 from
UD Wellness Dollars.

Washington shuttle
     The Washington, D.C., shuttle to the Library of Congress and the
Folger Library for faculty and graduate students will operate on
Fridays during the spring semester, starting Feb. 10.
     Reservations must be made in advance by noon on Thursday of each
week. Call Darlene Reynolds or Pat Beazley, English, at 831-2361.


Summer internship
     The Department of Housing and Conference Services is offering an
internship in conference management for 13 weeks- approximately 450
hours-from June 5-Aug. 11.
     Some weekend work is required. The pay rate is $5.25 per hour,
plus overtime.
     Interested individuals should call Janice Holton at 831-8649 for
information and/or an application. The deadline date is Feb. 28.


Lose weight
     Classes on weight management will be held once a week on
Tuesdays, from 1:10-1:50 p.m. in 236 Alison Hall.
     The classes, being taught by a registered dietitian, begins Feb.
14 and will run for six weeks.
