Crime advisory

     Within the past two weeks, two robberies-one armed and the other
possibly involving a weapon-have occurred on campus.
     An armed robbery occurred at 8:15 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, at
Sussex/Squire Drive, when two suspects took a wallet and clothing from
two victims. The suspects displayed a handgun during the crime.
     One suspect is a white male, 6' with a thin build, wearing a dark
hooded sweatshirt, dark baggy pants and a red and white bandanna over
his face. The other suspect-who displayed a chrome semi-automatic
gun-is a black male, 5' 6", 170 lbs., wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt
and dark baggy pants. They were possibly driving a blue Ford Escort,
two-door, older model with Delaware tags.
     The second robbery occurred at 6:05 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, in
the Hollingsworth Parking Lot, at North College and Cleveland avenues.
     The suspects included a white male teenager, 5' 9", with short
blond buzz cut hair, a dark blue sweatshirt, green army pants and a
blue headband; a black male teenager, 5' 9", in a maroon hooded
sweatshirt, baggy jeans and possibly armed; a tall, white male
teenager with buzz cut hair and a crimson-colored jacket; and a white
male teenager.
     Suspect two implied he had a gun. The suspects took the victims'
wallets and fled toward Cleveland Avenue.
     Members of the campus community are asked to call University
Police at 831-2222 to report any unusual or suspicious activity or to
offer any information related to these and other crimes.
     Persons of the same general description are also being sought by
Newark Police for two similar armed robberies in the city jurisdiction
in the same time period as the above two incidents.
