Nomination forms
     Nomination forms are now available to recommend faculty for
consideration for the annual excellence-in-teaching and excellence-in-
advising awards.
     The nomination forms, due by March, 15, are available in the
Faculty Senate Office, 219 McDowell Hall, in department offices and at
the main desk of the Perkins Student Center.

Tax changes for '95
     The Social Security Administration has announced the maximum
taxable earnings and the rates for FICA and FICA Medicare for 1995.
     While the rates have remained the same, the maximum taxable
earnings have increased as follows:
     The rate on FICA wages is 6.2 percent on earnings up to $61,200,
for a maximum employee tax of $3,794.40.
     The rate on the FICA Medicare is 1.45 percent with no limit on
earnings and no maximum employee tax.
     During 1994, the maximum taxable earnings were $60,600 for FICA
and no limit on FICA Medicare.

Tree lighting
     The city of Newark and the Newark Business Association are
sponsoring the Main Street Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at 7 p.m.,
Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Academy Building. The ceremony will be
followed by an evening of Christmas carols.

Box office hours
     The Perkins Student Center box office hours have been changed. It
is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Mondays-Fridays, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m.,
Saturdays.
     The hours of the box office in the Bob Carpenter Center remain
the same, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Mondays-Saturdays.

Interfaith service
     The December Interfaith Service of Lights will be held at 7 p.m.,
Wednesday, Dec. 7, in Heritage Hall of the Newark United Methodist
Church. The event is sponsored by the Wesley Foundation Campus
Ministry.

Library hours
     Morris Library hours through Dec. 16 are 8 a.m.-midnight, Mondays-
Thursdays; 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Fridays; 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturdays; and 11
a.m.- midnight, Sundays. Special collections and exhibition gallery
hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Mondays-Fridays; and 9 a.m.-8 p.m.,Tuesdays.
     The Morris Library will remain open until 10 p.m. on Dec. 2, 3, 9
and 10 and until 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16.
