Up and coming
Student artists to exhibit works
Graduating students from the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and the
Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree programs will present exhibitions of
their work in early December on campus.
On Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2-3, Paul Wandless, who is receiving
a BFA in ceramics, and Nori Pao, who will receive a BFA in ceramics
and printmaking, will exhibit at the Sculpture Building in the
Hollingsworth complex at the corner of North College and Cleveland
avenues. Openings are set both days from 5 to 9 p.m.
Danielle Reish, who is receiving a BFA in metals, and Runcie
Tatnall, who is receiving a BA in illustration, will exhibit their
work Dec. 2 and 3 at Recitation Hall. Their opening will be held from
4 to 7 p.m., Dec. 2.
Cecilia Holm, who is receiving a BFA in photography, will exhibit
Dec. 2 at the Janvier Gallery, 56 West Delaware Ave. The exhibit
opening is from 4 to 7 p.m.
Adrian Roseboom, who will receive a BFA in painting, will exhibit
at the Janvier Gallery on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 8-9. The opening
will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Dec. 8.

Festival of Trees to benefit Hospice
Delaware Hospice will hold its annual fund-raising event, the
Festival of Trees, at the University's Wilcastle Center, 2800
Pennsylvania Ave., in Wilmington, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2;
10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3; and noon-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4.
A number of decorated trees and wreaths are the highlight of the
annual exhibition. In addition, there are decorated miniature trees
for sale, a visit from Santa Claus, children's activities, a book
fair, bake sale and holiday raffle.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
The goal of Delaware Hospice is to maintain dignity and quality
of life by allowing patients to die at home surrounded by family and
friends who offer care and comfort to reduce pain as much as possible.

Clean Air Act is seminar topic
A seminar on the Clean Air Act will be held from 8 a.m.-4:30
p.m., Friday, Dec. 9, on the Wilmington campus. Pre-registration is
required for this program, which is aimed at developing an exchange
among government officials, the business and environmental communities
and concerned individuals.
Issues to be covered include hazardous air pollutants, ozone non-
attainment, operating permits, acid rain, ozone depletion, Title V and
private and public partnerships for Clean Air Act initiatives.
The seminar is sponsored by the Department of Continuing

Carols concert on Saturday evening
"A Festival of Carols" will be presented at 8 p.m., Saturday,
Dec. 3, in the Amy E. du Pont Music Building.
The program will feature the University Chorale, Women's Chorus
and Men's Chorus. Tickets at $4.50 are on sale at the Hartshorn Gym
box office and at the door.
Seasonal sounds in Loudis Dec. 4
You can hear the "Sounds of the Season," the University's annual
Holiday Gala, twice on Sunday, Dec. 4, in concerts at 3 and 8 p.m.
Both performances by Department of Music soloists and groups will
be held in the Loudis Recital Hall of the Amy E. du Pont Music
Building.
Groups scheduled to perform include the Delaware Brass, the
Del'Arte Woodwind Quintet, the Taggart-Grycky Flute and Guitar Duo and
the University of Delaware Faculty Jazz Trio. Soloists include Patrick
Evans, baritone, and Melanie DeMent, soprano, with Julie Nishimura on
piano.
Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for University faculty, staff and
senior citizens, and $2 for students. All proceeds benefit the
Department of Music Scholarship Fund.

Renaissance music featured Dec. 7
The University of Delaware Collegium Musicum, directed by Russell
Murray, assistant professor of music history and literature, will
feature music by Renaissance composer Josquin des Prez at 8 p.m.,
Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Newark United Methodist Church.
The free public performance will feature the Missa 'Pange
Lingua,' to be sung by the 10-member Consort of Voyces, conducted by
Lysbet Murray. des Prez' instrumental works will be performed on
period instruments including recorders, shawms and krumhorns, by La
petite bande de la demoiselle de Nemours, conducted by Russell Murray.
Founded in 1991, the University's Collegium Musicum ensembles are
open to all University students as well as members of the community.
