AIDS candlelight vigil tonight
A candlelight vigil will be held tonight, immediately after the
AIDS benefit in Pearson Hall, at approximately 10 p.m. on the south
side of Memorial Hall, as part of the commemoration of World AIDS Day
on campus.
All members of the University and Newark communities are
encouraged to attend.
Speakers at the vigil will include Alexander Doberenz, interim
vice president for student life, as well as representatives from
Wellspring and the Delaware Lesbian Gay Health Advocates.
The purpose of the vigil is to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS-
related issues on campus and throughout the community and to remember
those who have been lost to the disease.
Some candles will be provided.
The program is cosponsored by Queer Campus, Students Against
Racism and Discrimination and Students for Awareness.
For additional information, call Eric Morrison, president of
Queer Campus, at 831-8921.
