On campus

As the music director for WVUD since May, I have had the
opportunity to learn more about music. I receive new music from the
labels for our music library and occasionally speak with their
representatives when they want to know how bands are doing. I keep the
music log, so I can report to the College Music Journal the number of
times songs are played on the air. They incorporate our results into
their top 150. In addition to keeping the music library and the music
log, I also DJ on different shows such as our jazz shows, Cutting Edge
shows and Java Time. Occasionally, I record promos, public service
announcements and station IDs.
Since I play guitar and saxophone, my favorite thing about this
job is the exposure to different types of music. I have also met a lot
of great people.
